Branching demos for multi-persona sales

One demo link that speaks to CFOs, admins, and end-users. How to structure a branching demo that routes each buyer to the story that closes.

Branching for sales

B2B deals rarely have one buyer. A CFO cares about ROI, an admin cares about setup and permissions, an end-user cares about daily workflow. A single linear demo forces all three down the same path — and loses at least two of them. Branching fixes that. Here's a practical playbook for building one demo link that serves every stakeholder.

Start with a menu step

Your first step should be a simple chooser: "What matters most to you?" with a clear option per persona. In DemoPine, add callouts or hotspots for each choice and use the Flow view to wire them to the start of each path. Keep it to three or four options — more is paralysis.

Design one path per persona

Each path is a short, focused mini-demo. Resist the urge to reuse the same steps for everyone. The CFO path leads with outcomes and pricing; the admin path shows setup, roles, and controls; the end-user path shows the core daily task. Three tight paths beat one long everything-demo.

  • CFO: results, dashboards, ROI, end with pricing or a call.
  • Admin: onboarding, permissions, integrations, end with a setup guide.
  • End-user: the one job they do most, end with a trial invite.

Route hotspots to any step

DemoPine hotspots can jump to any step, not just the next one — that's what makes branching work. Within a path, let viewers dive deeper or hop back to the menu. A "see another use case" hotspot at the end of one path can send them back to the chooser.

Gate it when it's worth it

For outbound and high-intent traffic, add a lead-capture step before the demo starts. You'll know who's exploring which path — which is a strong signal for sales follow-up.

Read the paths in analytics

After launch, your analytics show which paths get traffic, where each one drops off, and which hotspots get clicked. If the admin path bleeds viewers at step three, that's your fix. Branching plus per-step analytics turns a demo into a continuously improving asset.

One link, sent everywhere

The goal is a single share link you can drop into any follow-up, knowing it will meet each stakeholder where they are.

Build it once, and your sales team stops maintaining five different demos. Capture your screens, wire the branches in Flow view, gate it if it's outbound, and let the analytics tell you which path to sharpen next.
